A simple setting of this pretty carol for clarinet quintet (Eb clarinet, 3 Bb clarinets and a bass clarinet). Each verse the pitch goes up by a tone until the final verse which returns to the original key. Everybody except the bass clarinet has a go at the melody and each verse is harmonised in a different syle.
Verse 1 is a solo for Eb, Verse 2 is a duet for Eb1 and Bb 1. Verse 3 adds the Clar 2 and Bass, Verse 4 is the first verse with all instruments playing. Verse 5 is a trio for Lower clarinets. Verse 6 uses all instruments for the finale.
This is a very simple arrangement and should be playable by any standard of ensemble.
