This is a suite of five four-part madrigals arranged for bassoon quartet. The fourth part could equally be played on contrabassoon. Dowland's music, so well written for the voice, translates really well onto winds - in particular, the bassoon.
This suite would make a great addition to an autumn concert, as it is a great change from the usual fare. Give it a try! |
