Description
This is a magnificent example of Giovanni Gabrieli at his best. Antiphonal writing, between two four-part brass choirs. His writing for brass instruments and for voices are both the pinnacle of the Venetian school. Writing for the Cathedral of San Marco in Venice, he made the most use out of the numerous choir galleries in the building, creating amazing spatial sound effects.
