Description
This is one of Bach's strangest Gigues. It isn't i compound or triple metre for a start and the melodiy, which is treated in a very contrapuntal style is very angular and ungainly. The tempo, as marked on my original is also - relatively speaking - quite stately and hardly qualifies as 'Allegro'.
This is a most unusual and interesting item for a programme based on Bach's music or the Baroque in general.
