descripção |
This is a setting for brass band of the famous Serenade No 10, which was featured in the Peter Shaffer film "Amadeus" about the life of Mozart's, as seen through the eyes of his rival Antonio Salieri.
Serenades were very poopular pieces in the classical period and Mozart and his contemporaries wrote many of them. They were intended to be played by small groups of musicians who could wander the streets of Vienna and Salzburg playing for a few coins.
In the film, this piece is used to illustrate Salieri's first encounter with Mozart. Any rumour that Salieri killed Mozart is purely conjecture! |
