This is an arrangement for full brass band. It has a number of features and passes the melody and countermelodies around the band.
A strage thing happened when I was writing it in that a chorale melody imposed itself on the tune (at letter E) quite out of the blue. This is similar to "Nun Danket", but there are differences. I felt compelled to keep it harmonised in a chorale style. It appears again at the end as the carol fades in to the distance. |
